My name is Joling and I understand from personal experience that seeking a counsellor can be daunting and scary. It takes courage to reach out and ask for help so well done for taking the first step in your counselling journey.
I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor and work with a person-centred approach. This means that I step into your world and allow you the space and time to explore what is going on for you in a non-judgmental way. I believe that you hold the power to change your mindset and my aim is to work together to discover a more healthy way of living.
I would like to assure you that I have experienced my own struggles and feel these difficulties have helped me develop my compassionate and empathatic nature. I truly believe that we all hold the power to make positive changes in our lives and I would welcome the opportunity to work together with you on your counselling journey.
Counselling offers you an emotionally safe and confidential space to be able to express your
feelings without judgement. Therapy gives you the opportunity to share your thoughts and
emotions openly with a trained professional and helps you to gain clarity and understanding of
your issues. Collaboratively, we are able to explore new ways of thinking and behaving leading
to new thought processing paths.
My job is not to offer advice or guide you in any direction. I cannot and will not tell you what todo. I will however explore different options and discuss various routes that you feel are helpful for therapeutic change.
As an integrative counsellor, I have studied various schools of therapy, but I do however mainly work as a person-centred counsellor and take tools and techniques from other models such as;
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as
Mindfulness and Solution Focused Behaviour Therapy (SFBT).
My aim is for you to feel comfortable and able to state your thoughts and together we can explore what this means for you. There is no wrong or right way for a therapy session to occur.
Just showing up is a huge start to building our therapeutic relationship and navigating new ways to help you live a more healthy life. It can be challenging and emotionally tough, but these
difficult moments are useful to identify what changes you want to make within yourself.
I believe you have the power to adapt your mindset by making consistent and useful changes, helping you to live your life in a more balanced and healthy way. I have tools and techniques to share with you to promote your mental well-being and daily mindset.
We can discuss your goals for therapy and use our sessions to work towards these. I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation to discuss your personal circumstances and we can discuss possible ways that counselling may help to improve your mental health.
Please message me from the contact page and I will aim to respond within 24 hours.
